Technology Enhanced Instruction:  Supporting Diverse Learners

As the lines between assistive technology and educational technology continue to blur, it could be said that “all technology is assistive technology.” This presentation will focus on how digital technologies, assistive technologies, and the creative utilization of existing technologies all offer potential solutions that can provide access to information and the curriculum for students who may not otherwise be able to obtain it.

About Pauline Auld

Pauline Auld is the Assistive Technology Specialist for the Calgary Board of Education. Pauline has a background in Special Education, Information Literacy and Assistive Technology. Her graduate work in Educational Technology at the University of Calgary has focused on the use of technology to address a variety of diverse learning needs. Pauline is currently implementing several Assistive Technology Research Projects in a number of schools within the CBE. Her role is to provide leadership and support in the application of Assistive Technologies and to enhance students’ access to their learning. Pauline chairs both the CBE Assistive Technology Community of Practice and Advisory Committee as well as aligning the work of CBE with that of Alberta Education.
