Planning for Teacher Professional Development Across the Curriculum Using Videoconferencing and a Blend of Technologies

In this session we will examine teacher professional development models which use videoconferencing and a blend of technologies in a synchronous/asynchronous delivery mode. Ideas and strategies shared at this session will align with current research on effective teacher professional development and effective use of educational videoconferencing.

About Danny Maas

Danny Maas is the Project Coordinator for Video-conferencing at Alberta Education. Danny is a secondee from Edmonton Catholic Schools, where he has served as an elementary school teacher and a district technology lead teacher. His passion for learning with technology has led to his involvement with 2Learn.ca as a lead teacher for five years, and in 2003 Danny was a recipient of the Alberta Excellence in Teaching Award. Danny also received a People’s Choice award for an educational technology support website called “Teachers Use Tech”, and was nominated for a 2005 Edublog Award for his educational technology video podcast “TILT – Teachers Improving Learning with Technology”.
