Alberta’s Strategy for Distributed Learning – A Proposal

Provincial governments in Canada have a central responsibility for basic education of their students. In this session the presenter will suggest an Alberta approach to distributed learning and will ask participants to respond. Participants will learn from each other as they participate in a focused discussion with an Alberta Education representative.

About Hélène Fournier

Hélène is the Director, Distributed Learning Resources Branch, of Alberta Education. She plays a leadership role in the design and development of distributed learning materials for K-12 students and teachers in Alberta. Hélène previously worked at Red River College in Winnipeg as a Program Officer of the Distance Education Division, as well as at La Cité collégiale in Ottawa where she held various administrative and instructor positions in the areas of e-Learning and Distance Education. She has also worked for a variety of Canadian and overseas institutions as a trainer and consultant in the areas of distance and distributed learning.
