We will share the results of several research studies in which instructors explored ways to increase classroom interactivity through Student Response Systems (a.k.a. clickers) over the past year. We will also provide an overview of the process and selection criteria for selecting a preferred SRS vendor for the University of Alberta.

About…

Stephen Addison has a background in educational research and instructional design, with a keen interest in how people learn. He is responsible for managing the Teaching with Technology Initiative (TTI) at the University of Alberta which assists instructors in exploring instructional approaches that are enhanced through the use of technology.
 
Sandra Dowie has extensive experience as an instructional developer in both the private and public sectors. As E-Learning Development Officer at the University of Alberta, Sandra is responsible for providing strategic support and advice in the creation and implementation of e-learning plans, policy, and communications documents. Sandra also manages special initiatives directed at transforming the nature of teaching and learning at the University through the effective use of information and communications technologies.
