This session will examine Alberta-North strategies for improving access and supporting barriered distance learners by facilitating accessibility for individuals and groups (particularly under-represented populations, e.g., Aboriginal, low income and educational levels) and providing learner support services that these students need to be successful in their studies.

About Joanne Stiles

Joanne Stiles has worked in various aspects of alternative and distance delivery at Grande Prairie Regional College for the past 11 years: as an instructor, a planner, in technical support, and as an instructional designer. She is deeply committed to the ideals of community development and learner support that formed and sustain the Alberta North partnership.
