Proof of Concept: Redeploying employees
Presenter: Ingrid Stammer
In February 2007 preparations were underway for a potential job action. Approximately 1,500 employees, mostly office workers, from Vancouver to Montreal, would need safety training in the event their services would be required as front line workers. Over a period of six weeks, 15 online courses were delivered to the employees. These courses were prerequisites to hands-on training. A strike was called and the newly trained employees were deployed to the field. At the end of the strike the redeployed employees had suffered no significant injuries and no fatalities. This presentation will review the project and employee survey results.
