INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN ASSISTANT
This person will be working with the Instructional Designer to support online courses offered by GPRC. Proficiency with computers as well as strong interpersonal communication and public service skills are essential. Training will be available for the specific technical functions of the position.
Key Responsibilities:
- With guidance from the Instructional Designer, create or edit online course materials, learning objects, and/or test banks.
- Front-line contact offering users support for their online course materials.
- Perform Circulation duties and provide software helpdesk services for the Library.
Required Qualifications:
- Administrative Technology Diploma and one month’s related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current proficiency in computer applications.
This full-time, term-certain position will commence as soon as possible and end May 29, 2009. Grande Prairie Regional College offers an attractive benefits package and a starting salary of $2,967.00 per month.

EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY ANALYST
NorQuest College
NorQuest College is seeking an enthusiastic individual to play a lead role in supporting the College’s online course delivery tools. In this role you will be responsible for the technical support and training of students and staff as well as the administration and maintenance of these applications. You will be a key member of the team that supports eLearning at the College.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting and training for students and faculty engaged in eLearning onsite and at a distance.
- Responsible for WebCT and Elluminate Live! administration including:
- managing course creation and student and faculty access.
- generating user reports.
- overseeing upgrades.
- Work with I&T department to maintain eLearning applications.
- testing new versions.
- scheduling upgrades.
- backing up classes and courses.
- Research, test, evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies to meet educational requirements that enhance the College’s eLearning environment.
- Provide workshops and individual training sessions for faculty and staff on the effective use of educational software and equipment.
- Support and maintain educational technology resources and equipment at College campuses.
- Conduct classroom technology demonstrations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 year diploma in a computer related course of study.
- Experience in a related field especially technical support and training.
- Strong organizational skills: the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The ability to learn new technologies and applications quickly.
- Detailed knowledge of the following equipment/software/hardware: College applications and educational technology software including WebCT, Elluminate Live, DreamWeaver, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, etc., computers, laptops, and traditional and advanced multimedia equipment.
